Celebrate the Festive Season With Christmas Carols Across Melbourne

It’s that time of the year again! Get together with family and friends and explore the many Christmas Carols events happening across different communities in Melbourne.

CARNEGIE & BENTLEIGH
Live in Glen Eira? Get down to Carols in the Park at Bentleigh Hodgson Reserve. Hosted by Aussie comedy star Colin Lane from Lano and Woodley, the free event features a variety of special guests, from musical theatre fave Lucy Durack to Santa himself.

When: 4pm to 8pm Saturday 14 December 2024

ELSTERNWICK
Held on the same day, head over to the annual Family Fun Day in Elsternwick Village. This wonderful all day celebration features everything from live festive music to face painting and a visit from Santa.

When: 11am to 3pm Saturday 14 December 2024
Where: Begins at the HQ outside Officeworks on 377 Glen Huntly Rd.

MACEDON RANGES
Enjoy an endearing community experience at the annual Christmas Carol sing-along at the Victoria Hotel Woodend in the Macedon Ranges. Led by the incredible Woodend Warblers, this free community event brings together people of all ages for an evening of festive cheer.

BLACKBURN
Folks looking to get their jingle on can head to the Whitehorse Carols held in the Whitehorse Civic Centre Precinct. This free community event features rides, face painting and other amusements, making for a wonderful evening of music, laughter and holiday magic.

CAMBERWELL
Bring along a picnic rug and settle in for a night of Carols, live music, food trucks and a sausage sizzle down at Canterbury Gardens. This free community event offers fun for all ages, including children’s activities and face painting.

PENINSULA
Grab your friends and family for a night to remember down at the Sorrento Carols by Candlelight. Celebrate the festive season with a memorable evening of music, cheer and community, with food stalls, special guests, a fireworks display and local choirs and musicians leading the carols under the stars

MOUNT WAVERLEY & OAKLEIGH
Monash Carols by Candlelight returns to unite the community in an evening of festive cheer at the picturesque Jells Park. Family and friends across Mount Waverley, Oakleigh and the City of Monash come together for a magical celebration filled with music and holiday spirit.

ASCOT VALE & ESSENDON
Experience the magic of Carols in Queens Park in the hub of the Moonee Valley. Friends and family across Ascot Vale and Essendon gather for an evening picnic while enjoying a festive celebration that includes musical performances and a special guest direct from the North Pole!

SOUTH YARRA, CARLTON  INNER NORTH
For people living in South Yarra, Carlton and inner city Melbourne, Carols by Candlelight along the Yarra River is a big tradition. Hosted by Lisa Wilkinson and David Campbell, the huge event features stars like Anthony Callea, Rob Mills and Kate Ceberano.

When: 7:30pm to 11pm Tuesday 24 December 2024
Where: Get a ticket to see it live at Sidney Myer Music Bowl or enjoy it for free at Fed Square.

COBURG & PASCOE VALE
Pull out your picnic mats, warm up your singing voice and gather your friends and family down at the beautiful Coburg Lake for an evening of music and community. Carols at the Lake features everything from jazz and soul performances through to the classic carols by candlelight and special visit from Santa.

CROYDON
Enjoy a night of free entertainment where friends and families across Croydon come together at Town Park to celebrate the festive season. The night will be filled with wonderful entertainment including the Maroondah Carols Band along with delicious food, kid’s activities and fireworks.

HEIDELBERG
Get into the spirit of Christmas and come to the annual Carols by Candlelight at Greensborough War Memorial Park. This popular family friendly event draws in people across Banyule, from Heidelberg to Watsonia to enjoy a fantastic evening of entertainment, activities and great food.

When: 5pm to 9:30pm Saturday 14 December 2024

KEILOR
Gather together with friends and family at Craigieburn Anzac Park. Organised by the City of Hume, residents across Keilor for a merry evening of carols, Christmas themed stalls, music performances, arts and craft, delicious food and a fireworks finale display.

LILYDALE & YARRA VALLEY
Join the fun and festivities at Melba Park for this year’s Lilydale Carols in the Park. Sing along to Christmas carols, enjoy a tasty sausage sizzle, kick back on a chair or blanket or bring bathers and a towel if you’d like to take a dip for free. The evening is capped off by an outdoor screening of a Christmas themed movie

MANNINGHAM
Kick-start your festive season with an evening of family friendly entertainment at Manningham’s Carols by Candlelight at Ruffey Lake Park. Pre-show entertainment includes face painting, tasty food trucks and a variety of fun activities, with a fireworks display to cap off the evening.
